Enthusiastic ' 09, Classic Games and MoyMoy Palaboy...

We celebrated New Year at the Office... again. It's kinda sad, but at least a lot of people in our offices bought some food. I'm stuffed to my eardrums that night. Still, I'm happy that I still have a job that makes me buy some things I need ( grocery) to things I don't need. ( novelty items ) I'm looking forward to this year, as I do always. As Brandon Boyd of Incubus once said, "whatever tomorrow brings/ i'll be there/ with open arm/ and open eyes/ Yeah...."

I've also recently purchased a cd full of compilation of classic games from their respective publishers (i.e. Midway, Sega, etc.) and downloaded them into my psp. ( I'm also thinking of downloading some scanned comic books as well) They're very entertaining. You see, I have a knack for playing classic games from Pitfall! on the Atari 2600 to Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Genesis. Makes you think how kids during that time consider a pixel as a Hero to how "revolutionary" those graphics are when compared to today's HD-quality graphics. Back then, there are no "real" endings, other than the usual glittering "CONGRATULATIONS" page. And the one thing that keeps them coming back to the game is beating someone's (or theirs) high score.

But the sad thing about these games sometimes is almost all of them are the same. They are just the usual platformer and shooter archetypes. The only variety are the characters and the storyline (well, kinda...) and man, these things can be hard. I've been playing this game made by Sega back in 1995 called Comix Zone, where a questionably-built comic book artist was sucked into his own comic book page and must escape into the pages. The action transpire in comic book panels. It's very interesting, if it wasn't for the damn difficulty. I keep dying in the second level. And there no continues on the original game. Once you die it's all over. You start all over again. Yikes. Well, I was a Sega Genesis baby, I started playing on the Genesis and not the usual Famicom. The game I play is Sonic the Hedgehog 3. We (my sister) always play with no save points. I'm glad that today's games have save points so you don't have to start all over again. Makes the industry merciful.

Rants: MoyMoy Palaboy really got into a lucky break, landing a gig at GMA7's Bubble Gang. They even have an endorsement shown on the LRT-1 . MoyMoy Palaboy are two dudes who lip-sync music with humorous results. They got famous in Youtube (no need to introduce this sh*t.) Almost all of the posts on that website has some idiots lip-syncing some tomfoolery music. It's just that these idiots got lucky. And I've watched their video. It's amusing (funny for a few minutes) enough, but it gets tired. But you know what, even if I have my gripes, I would still have my picture taken with those thumbleweeds. I guess that's how we're wired. We may hate someone, but we could still kiss them...
